Lenox Advisors Inc. has hired Steve Grochol, 35, as a relationship manager with the official title of associate.

Lenox Advisors Inc. has hired Steve Grochol, 35, as a relationship manager with the official title of associate.

Previously, he was a financial adviser and retirement planner for New York Life Insurance Co. Mr. Grochol aided the company in tax diversification of client portfolios, small-business consulting, client assistance with individual-retirement-account rollovers and mutual fund purchases, and recruitment of agents to the New York Life staff.

UBS Investment Bank has hired Bora Sila, 48, as managing director and head of retail coverage for the Americas within the firm’s global consumer products and retail group.

He will provide banking coverage for all retail clients in the Americas.

Previously, Mr. Sila was co-head of the retail investment banking practice at Citigroup Inc., where he held several senior positions.

Prudential Annuities, the domestic annuity business of Prudential Financial Inc., has hired Tim Seifert, 45, as vice president and director of national sales.

He will be responsible for sales planning and execution in Prudential Annuities’ independent-broker-dealer, wirehouse, bank and agency distribution channels. In addition, Mr. Seifert will manage Prudential Annuities’ national sales managers, national sales desk and business development desk.

Previously, he was senior managing director of Planco Financial Services LLC, a member of The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., where he oversaw the firm’s sales and distribution initiatives.

Deloitte LLP has added Ray J. Iler and Ellen C. Schubert to the hedge fund team of the firm’s asset management services.

Mr. Iler, 41, was named Northwest Pacific hedge fund leader. He will be responsible for hedge fund industry matters involving audits, tax, financial advice and consulting.

Previously, Mr. Iler was chief financial officer and corporate secretary for Quadrise Canada Co., where he was responsible for Big Four financial accounting and maintaining relationships with investment companies.

Ms. Schubert, 47, will be chief adviser to Deloitte’s asset management services practice. She will advise the firm’s hedge fund clients on issues such as operations, product structuring and regulation.

Previously, Ms. Schubert was managing director and global head of the fixed-income hedge fund business for UBS Investment Bank. There, she managed the fixed-income prime-brokerage business, developed and executed a global hedge fund coverage model for fixed income and managed the firm’s top global hedge fund clients from an investment bank perspective.

Producers Equity Group Inc., a financial holding corporation, has been launched as a union of three established firms representing three financial divisions: Brookstone Capital Management LLC, Center Street Securities Inc. and Covenant Reliance Producers LLC.

Matthew J. Rettick, 55, is chairman and spokesman for Producers Equity.

As president and founder of Covenant Reliance Producers, Producers Equity’s insurance division, he will ensure that it provides insurance solutions and comprehensive training to affiliated advisers.

J.R. Thacker, 39, is a founding board member of Producers Equity. As president of Center Street, Producers Equity’s investment division, he will ensure that it provides affiliated registered representatives with investment solutions, training and marketing strategies.

Dean Zayed, 36, is a founding board member of Producers Equity. As president of Brookstone, Producers Equity’s money management solutions division, he will ensure that it provides effective money management solutions and training to affiliated advisers.

Sun Life Financial Inc.’s U.S. division has hired Sean Woodroffe, 46, as head of human resources.

He will oversee all U.S. human resources operations, as well as help maintain the employee base.

Previously, Mr. Woodroffe was division head for the United Bank for Africa’s Human Capital Management Business Partnership.

FBR Fund Advisers Inc., the mutual fund division of FBR Capital Markets Corp., has hired Brian Macauley, David S. Rainey and Ira Rothberg as direct co-managers of the FBR Focus Fund.

Previously, the three worked as analysts at Akre Capital Management LLC, where they helped subadvise the FBR Focus Fund.

Mr. Macauley, 35, and Mr. Rothberg, 29, were research analysts at Akre, while Mr. Rainey, 45, was a senior research analyst at the firm.

Impax Asset Management has hired John McDonald, 49, as head of sales and marketing.

He will lead the sales and marketing team and expand the breadth of the firm’s investor base with emphasis on the distribution of the firm’s long-only, private-equity and hedge funds to European and domestic investors.

Previously, Mr. McDonald was head of alternative sales and marketing at New Star Asset Management.
