Oral arguments took place last month in a lawsuit challenging an SEC rule that classifies index annuities as securities. A group known as the Coalition of Indexed Products filed its lawsuit in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in an effort to overturn the SEC rule.
