Securities regulators are exploring the idea of letting mutual fund directors delegate some of their responsibilities, according to a recent InvestmentNews report. At a meeting of the Washington-based Mutual Fund Directors Forum last month, an SEC official said directors have asked for the change so they have more time for “substantive issues” and have suggested allowing some duties to fall on the chief compliance officer.
