Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. has decided to impose a global hiring freeze through the end of the year, according to a memo cited by Bloomberg.
The hiring freeze does not apply to the firm’s retail brokers but includes previously budgeted hires.
A spokeswoman for the New York-based firm declined to comment.
