Wealthy investors remained bullish on the stock market during July, according to Citi Smith Barney’s monthly survey.
Seven out of 10 of these investors say that it’s a good time to invest in the market, marking three continuous months of respondent optimism toward the stock market.
About a third of investors expect higher returns over the next year.
Nearly half of those with more than $1 million in assets said that the current investment climate is better than it was a year ago, according to the wealth manager’s “Working Wealth Investor Poll.”
Optimism also extended to investors with less than a million in investible assets.
Seventy-five percent expect the investment climate to be the same or even better in a year.
Two-thirds of the respondents said that smart investors have at least some of their money in international investments.
Still, a number of issues keep investors up at night: The top three concerns were the federal budget deficit, healthcare and energy costs.
Some 47% of millionaire investors say that they’re much more concerned about the deficit this month.
