Schwab to use Morningstar-fueled platform

Financial advisers doing business with Schwab Institutional, will be able to access Morningstar Investment Services' line of actively managed mutual fund, stock, and ETF portfolios.

Schwab Institutional has established a relationship with Morningstar Investment Services enabling the firm to have portfolio management services available on an enhanced managed account services platform run by the wholly owned subsidiary of Morningstar Inc.

Under the new relationship, financial advisers doing business with Schwab Institutional, a division of San Francisco-based Charles Schwab and Co. Inc., will be able to access Morningstar Investment Services’ line of actively managed mutual fund, stock, and exchange traded fund portfolios.

“We’re pleased to offer our objective research, analysis, and portfolio management expertise so investment advisors who work with Schwab Institutional can focus on building relationships with their clients while we manage the portfolios,” said Kunal Kapoor, president and chief investment officer for Morningstar Investment Service, a wholly owned subsidiary of Chicago-based Morningstar Inc.
