Schwab’s Myra Rothfeld to retire

Bernie Clark, senior vice president of sales and relationship management, will become the new SVP of marketing.

The senior vice president of marketing for Schwab Institutional will leave the company after the company’s IMPACT 2008 conference in Atlanta that wraps up on September 26, Alison Wertheim, spokeswoman for Schwab said.
Her role will largely be assumed by Bernie Clark, senior vice president, sales and relationship management for the San Francisco-based custodian. His new responsibilitites include: the development and delivery of all practice management initiatives, which exist under the GrowthPoint brand.
In addition, he will now head up marketing of Schwab Institutional’s technology consulting and Schwab Performance Technologies Inc. of Raleigh, N.C., according to the company.
Schwab Performance Technologies makes back office software for financial advisers.
Ms. Rothfeld came to The Charles Schwab Corp. in 1993 and has been with Schwab institutional since 2001.
