Regulators are considering proposed rules aimed at strengthening their oversight of certain investment advisers. As mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act, the SEC’s rules would facilitate registration of hedge fund advisers and the like, define venture capital funds, require reporting by certain advisers exempt from registration and increase the asset threshold for advisers to register.
