The SEC last month approved amendments to a rule governing municipal-securities disclosures. Under the changes, issuers will be required to submit specific information electronically to the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board in Alexandria, Va., which will be the central repository for such data. Additionally, brokers or dealers and the like will have to reasonably determine that issuers are adhering to the SEC’s rule changes. For more details, visit sec.gov/rules/final/2008/34-59062.pdf.
