UBS recruits three more teams from Merrill in SoCal
UBS announced Friday that it added three teams to its Newport Beach, Calif., complex who managed $1.63 billion in client assets at Merrill. The advisers' production was not disclosed.

The smallest wirehouse added three teams to its Newport Beach, Calif., complex who managed $1.63 billion in client assets at Merrill. The advisers’ production was not disclosed.
The three teams took their new roles Tuesday, the same day that UBS brought in a team that had managed $3.1 billion at Merrill to its office in Los Angeles.
The three teams that joined UBS were James B. Axelson and Barry F. Porter, who managed $550 million in client assets; James E. Chiate and Anthony D. Guinane, who managed $500,000; and Christopher S. Gaal and Jeffery C. Hamilton, who managed $575 million. All but Mr. Hamilton join with the title senior vice president of wealth management. Mr. Hamilton is vice president and senior financial adviser.
Ana Sollitto, a spokeswoman for Bank of America Corp., Merrill’s parent, declined to comment on the departures.
