First things first: Thank you.
InvestmentNews.com is coming off of the best month in our history, generating more than 1.5 million page views in March.
It’s a significant milestone for us — an increase of roughly 100% from three years ago. But more importantly, it shows us that we are providing you with an increasingly valuable mix of news, data, video and other digital content that we’ve focused heavily on developing in recent years.
To that end, we’re still deeply committed to improving every experience you have on our website. We’ve recently made two significant investments that we hope will enhance every visit — and ultimately allow you to have easier access to information that makes you a better, more informed adviser.
BELLS AND WHISTLES
Many of you have expressed frustration with our search capabilities (We’ve felt your pain, believe me.) After months of research and implementation, today we are rolling out a new search engine within our site that will zero in on exactly the type of information you need.
The search terms will be more refined, allowing you to target specific firm information — and access our extensive data sets — with a single click. You also will be able to search for content in articles, videos and white papers, while filtering by specific authors on InvestmentNews.com.
We have over 50,000 unique pages within our site, so searching for a specific term is never easy. But this new tool should allow you to draw a straight line to the industry information and content you want — in a way as never before.
In addition to improving the site’s search function, we are also rolling out a new RIA Data Center. We have filtered the universe of more than 11,000 SEC-registered investment advisers down to a group of roughly 2,300 fee-only advisory firms that actively provide individuals with advice and financial planning services.
At InvestmentNews.com/RIA, you can create your own rankings, based on firms’ assets, accounts, average assets per account and other key data points. You can also view the largest RIAs in each state — and drill down to see additional details on each firm and how they stack up against others in the industry.
We know you’re busy, but we encourage you to take a look at both new features and provide us with your direct feedback. None of us at InvestmentNews knows more than all of you — so please drop me an e-mail at any time with your thoughts and suggestions.
And again, thank you.
