Levitt Capital Management LLC, a Boca Raton, Fla.-based asset management firm, has officially gone international by opening an office in Paris.
Levitt Capital founder and chief investment officer Robert Levitt said the expansion outside the United States is designed to meet a growing international demand for certain products and services.
“We are breaking the mold by bringing U.S. investment style management to Europe,” said Mr. Levitt, who currently oversees $400 million in assets for clients that meet the firm’s $3 million investment minimum.
“We will be bringing a whole new type of service to France,” he added.
“They have no separate accounts, only funds or money managed by banks.”
The Paris office will is being run by Alexandre Gaillard, director general.
Mr. Levitt, who will spend much of the summer based in the Paris office, holds the title of president director general.
Regarding a travel schedule that could keep him on the road up to five months a year, Mr. Levitt said the impact on his U.S.-based clients will be negligible.
“South Florida is a seasonal community and most of my clients aren’t even in Florida during the summer months,” he said.
“Plus, I’m an investment strategist and my role is not client relations.”
Mr. Levitt, who opened his investment firm in 2000, said he is already considering acquiring an asset management firm in France as he builds up the business there.
