How we rank the best 

The selection process is entirely merit-based, relying solely on objective, independent data such as: 

• SEC filings: Evaluated based on submissions between January 2024 and December 2024. If multiple filings were submitted, the most recent one was used. 
• AUM requirement: Firms must manage at least $100 million in assets. 
• Independent ownership: Firms must be independently owned, as determined by Discovery Data’s methodology. 
• Registration status: Firms cannot be dually registered as BD-RIA firms. 
• No broker-dealer affiliation: Firms must operate without a broker-dealer affiliation. 
• Client base: Each firm must serve at least 100 households, including individuals and HNW clients.
