LPL Financial has expanded its network in Texas as it welcomes back a veteran advisor from Raymond James. The firm announced that Phil Eggers, a financial advisor at Legacy Retirement Planning, is rejoining its broker-dealer, RIA, and custodial platforms.

Eggers is returning to LPL from Raymond James, where he most recently spent 8 years building up his practice, which serves nearly 300 families, into a roughly $170 million book of advisory, brokerage, and retirement plan assets.

Eggers is based in Plano, Texas, and started his 33-year career in 1990.

“I was at LPL for 18 years previously and had a wonderful experience the first time. It feels like I’m coming back home,” Eggers said in a statement.

He highlighted the supportive nature of LPL's leadership and its commitment to empowering advisors, which in turn benefits the clients advisors serve.

Eggers works with Matthew Ford, operations manager at Legacy Retirement Planning, who is poised to eventually succeed Eggers. Both emphasize a client-first approach in all their professional undertakings.

Aside from creating an attractive value proposition for his business, Eggers said the transition is part of a strategic move to enhance Legacy Retirement Planning’s business model and ensure a seamless succession in leadership.

In addition to his professional achievements, Eggers contributes to the community as a personal pilot for Angel Flight. Through this charitable organization, he aids in transporting individuals requiring medical treatments not available locally.

“We welcome Phil and Matt to the LPL community,” Scott Posner, executive vice president of business development, said in a statement. "We are inspired by their foresight to develop a thoughtful business continuity plan that is guided by their commitment to their clients.”

LPL brings Eggers back into the fold after a roughly two-week string of adding advisors from Ameriprise, including a $500 million advisor team in Texas and a $300 million practice in Kentucky.
