“I’ve always enjoyed what I’ve done,” says Matthew Walker, founder and CEO of Fortitude Family Office. “This line of work fits my personality, I've always felt a very immense responsibility to protect others and to serve.”

As most advisors will attest, Walker says the most rewarding part of being in the industry, is seeing the outcomes of clients’ lives. “Those are the highlights for me.”

Despite those highlights, there lies challenges for the Arizona-based advisor, noting he’s embarked on a service model at the firm that is very labor intensive.

“We try to go very deep and above and beyond a lot of the services that most of our competitors will provide,” Walker says, highlighting the several services at the firm, such as maintaining a full tax and accounting practice as well as getting hands on with their private investment initiatives.

Walker noted his clients have exceptionally high expectations. His mission? To meet and exceed those expectations and all service lines to bring together a cohesive family office experience.  "We have the privilege of working with people who are at the top of their respective fields," Walker said. "It is motivating to our entire team to know that even though they can hire anybody in the country, they continue to choose to work with Fortitude.”

Regardless, that hard work has been paying off for Walker as he is being recognized for his service as an InvestmentNews Awards 2024 Excellence Awardee, with the winners announced on June 20 at 583 Park Avenue, New York City in a glitzy, red carpet ceremony. Click here to register to attend.

“Maintaining that level of standard is hard. It's been hard and it will continue to be hard,” Walker added.
