Doug Townsend has been named senior vice president and chief financial officer of Jackson National Life Distributors and Curian Capital LLC. JNLD, a distribution group, and Curian, a provider of fee-based separately managed account platforms, are Denver-based subsidiaries of Jackson National Life Insurance Co. of Lansing, Mich. Mr. Townsend has been the vice president and controller of both entities since January 2004. He has also been the vice president and treasurer of Curian since July of that year. In his new post, Mr. Townsend will lead accounting and financial reporting for the entities, and handle the financial strategies for both.
