Federated launches three new funds

Federated Investors Inc. of Pittsburgh today announced the launch of three mutual funds: The Federated Clover Value Fund (VFCAX), Federated Clover Mid Value Fund (VFMAX) and Federated Clover Small Value Fund (VSFAX). The funds will be advised by the Federated Clover Investment Advisors team. Federated acquired Clover Capital Management Inc. of Rochester, N.Y., in December 2008 and operates that business under the Federated Clover name. The Value fund is managed by Matthew Kaufler and Paul Spindler, who joined Clover in 1991 and 1988, respectively. The Mid Value Fund will be managed by Michael Jones and Albert Yu. Mr. Jones is a founder of Clover, and Mr. Yu joined the firm in 2003. The Federated Clover Small Value Fund is managed by Lawrence Creatura and Stephen Gutch, who joined the firm in 1994 and 2003, respectively. Federated had $407 billion in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
