Eric Heaton, who led Morgan Stanley’s banking operations, has joined Rockefeller Capital Management as a managing director, head of strategy and a member of the firm’s management committee.

Specifically, Heaton will work on expanding the firm’s product offerings in the areas of credit, banking, insurance, annuities and retirement; accelerate growth in Rockefeller’s strategic advisory business; and develop enterprise-wide client relationships.

Heaton served for 10 years as president of U.S. Banks at Morgan Stanley, where he led banking and lending products for both the wealth management and institutional securities divisions. He oversaw two banks regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the firm’s community development finance group.

Heaton earlier held executive positions at Deutsche Bank and Merrill Lynch.
