Raymond James Investment Advisors has landed a $150 million in assets team from RBC Wealth Management. Kenneth Jobes and Jonathan Solo formed the Houston-based Jobes Solo Investment Group LLC last October, and are in the process of bringing clients over, Raymond James confirmed this week. "We have nothing against RBC," Mr. Jobes said, "but our methodology was not consistent with the attitude and mentality of the big firms." The pair use a risk-management model that combines technical and fundamental indicators to run portfolios that are tactical in nature. "We're risk timers," Mr. Jobes said. Mr. Jobes, 68, and Mr. Solo, 39, teamed up in 2009 after a former partner of Mr. Jobes retired. At RBC, they produced about $1.1 million in revenue. Joining them from RBC was Sarah Wiggins, a client manager and compliance officer.
